Introduction
Ruby Kumari, a Class 10 student of R. Keshav Girls’ High School, Madhepura, daughter of Mr. Jai Kumar and Mrs. Anita Kumari, and a resident of Ward No. 05, Professor Colony, Madhepura, has developed an amazing and highly useful project titled “Study Alarm System.” Ruby’s project aims to help students manage their study time effectively and organize their daily routines better.
In today’s time, most students rely on mobile phone alarms to schedule their study hours. However, they often face issues such as low battery, distractions, or losing focus due to the internet and apps, causing them to forget their planned study time. On the other hand, regular alarm clocks available in the market usually allow setting only a single alarm. Understanding this problem, Ruby came up with a solution that is not only helpful for students but also for anyone who wishes to complete their tasks on time.
Due to issues like battery drain, distractions, or interference from the internet and mobile apps, students often forget their scheduled study time. Moreover, regular alarm clocks available in the market usually allow setting only one alarm at a time.
Understanding this problem, Ruby developed a solution that is not only useful for students but also for anyone who wishes to complete their tasks on time. She has created a device that allows setting 24 different alarms simultaneously. With this device, anyone can set alarms according to their daily routine—whether for studying, playing, resting, or any other activity—ensuring that all tasks are completed on time without forgetting.
Director of Sparkovation Hub, Mr. Anand Vijay, shared, “Through our Innovation Center, we provide technical support and guidance to school and college students. If any student wishes to transform their idea into an innovation, Sparkovation Hub’s Innovation Center offers complete assistance to make it possible.”
Ruby Kumari’s project, “Study Alarm System,” is not only beneficial for students but also for anyone who wishes to complete their tasks on time. This device helps people develop the habit of time management. The project also demonstrates that girls from rural areas are rapidly advancing in the field of technological innovation.
Ruby’s effort is truly inspirational, proving that innovation knows no age or resource limitations. What truly matters is creative thinking, hard work, and proper guidance. Projects like the “Study Alarm System” showcase that new rays of technological transformation are emerging from the small towns and villages of our country, which will elevate India’s innovation landscape to new heights in the future.
Main Components of the Device:
This project uses NodeMCU ESP8266, two LCD screens, a buzzer, push buttons, and EEPROM memory.
In the software section, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were used to develop a dashboard that connects with the device through Wi-Fi.
The device includes a buzzer that rings when an alarm is triggered, along with a push button that allows the user to stop the alarm manually. Additionally, the system uses EEPROM memory, which ensures that all alarm data remains stored even during a power outage.

From the software perspective, Ruby designed an attractive and user-friendly Study Alarm Dashboard using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This dashboard connects to a Wi-Fi network named “StudyAlarm” and can be accessed through a mobile phone or computer. Users can set up to 24 different alarms and also assign custom labels such as “Math Study,” “Revision Time,” or “Wake Up Time.”
The system includes two distinct alarm modes:
- Continuous Mode, in which the alarm rings continuously.
- Beep Mode, where the alarm sounds intermittently in beeps.
Furthermore, by using the “Update Node Time” button, users can synchronize the device’s date and time with that of their computer or mobile phone.
In completing this project, Ruby received full guidance from her school science teacher, Mr. Pankaj Kumar. The technical development of this alarm device was significantly supported by Sparkovation Hub of Science and Technology Pvt. Ltd., which provided Ruby with technical mentorship and access to its Innovation Hub and IoT Lab.
In today’s era, many students rely on mobile phone alarms to schedule their study time. However, issues like battery drain, distractions caused by various apps and the
internet often make them forget their planned study hours. On the other hand, traditional alarm clocks available in the market usually allow setting only a single alarm.
Keeping this problem in mind, Ruby came up with an innovative solution that is useful not only for students but also for anyone who wants to complete their tasks on time. She has developed a device capable of setting 24 different alarms simultaneously. With the help of this device, people can manage all their important activities more efficiently and stay organized throughout the day.
